Motion Photography

This photograph, taken in the heart of Kolkata, captures one of the city’s most iconic elements—the vibrant yellow taxi—caught in motion. There’s something magnetic about how these taxis stand out against the backdrop of a city so rich in culture, chaos, and color. It was during this moment, as I stood at a busy crossing, camera in hand, that I stumbled upon the magic of motion photography. Until then, I was used to capturing still frames, but this image introduced me to the thrill of freezing movement in time.

That fleeting blur of yellow against the structured rhythm of the city streets sparked a new curiosity in me. I began experimenting with shutter speed, learning how to balance motion and clarity to tell stories in a different way. Since then, playing with movement has almost become second nature—whether it’s a fast-paced street scene or subtle motion in everyday life. It’s less about technical perfection and more about energy, rhythm, and feeling. This image marked a turning point in my photographic journey—where observation turned into experimentation, and stillness gave way to movement.
