Parijat- A Typography Exploration Project
Typography, Poster Design
2025

The Idea
The concept centers around ‘Parijat’ (পারিজাত), also known as the Shiuli flower, a delicate bloom deeply rooted in Bengali culture and nostalgia. The goal was to visually merge the elegance of Bengali script with the softness and purity of the flower, creating a poetic and emotionally resonant piece.

Process & Execution
The design began with hand-drawn letterforms in Procreate, exploring organic curves and flow that mimic the natural shapes of the Parijat flower. The floral elements were integrated into the typography to create a sense of growth and movement. Careful attention was given to stroke weight, balance, and harmony between the text and floral motifs.
The final artwork was refined and composed in Adobe Photoshop, where textures, gradients, and a warm, blur motion background were added to enhance mood and depth. Noise and grain effects were applied for a tactile, vintage feel. The contrast between soft white flowers and bold, glowing Bengali script brings out the ethereal yet grounded essence of the Parijat.

This project allowed me to blend language, culture, and nature into a single expressive piece. Through the graceful flow of Bengali typography and the delicate presence of the Parijat phool. This exploration reaffirmed my love for visual storytelling rooted in tradition, and opened new paths for merging type with emotion and organic elements.
